Dr. Satnam Singh graduated from Liverpool John Moores University (UK) with a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He then furthered his studies at Coventry University in UK and was awarded with a Masters Degree of Science in Engineering and Manufacturing Management. Dr. Satnam then continued to study for his doctorate and was awarded with a PhD in Engineering and Manufacturing Management. Dr.Satnam has been actively involved in the field of Continual Improvement activities since the beginning of his tertiary education. While accomplishing his Master Degree in the United Kingdom, he had been extensively trained for Lean Systems and Six Sigma whilst working as a Project Manager for a Multi National Corporation (MNC) in the UK for over 12 years.
During his stay with the MNC in the UK, Dr. Satnam was tasked with the responsibility of promoting and implementing Lean and Six-Sigma within the Organization. Due to his extensive exposure in Lean and Six-Sigma Management System, he was invited by the company’s European Subsidiaries to conduct in-house training in the area of Six-Sigma implementation. In addition he has been conducting many rounds of lean workshop focusing in 5S, changeover reduction (SMED), Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Cellular Layout and various other lean tools. Upon returning to Malaysia, Dr. Satnam had a brief stint in a local consulting company where he became a renowned consultant and trainer. With his excellent interpersonal and communication skills, he has conducted various high impact trainings and workshops in the area of workplace improvement, variation and waste reduction, and practical problem solving techniques including statistical tools. Due to his extensive exposure in different management systems and strong project management skills, he is currently providing Lean Six Sigma related consultancy, trainings and supports to local and multi-national companies that seek quality improvement and breakthrough.
Dr. Satnam is experienced in writing and presenting Six Sigma Publications and Six Sigma Presentation Materials at Corporate Events. He also has extensive experience in developing and conducting Six Sigma Champions Training, Black Belt, Green Belt and Yellow Belt training programs for Private Companies, major Government Linked Companies (GLCs) in Malaysia and many other Government Agencies. Throughout his experience, Dr. Satnam’s Industry coverage for Six Sigma Deployment includes Automotive, Transportation, Defence, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Logistics, Expressways, Education, General Services, Telecommunication and the Construction Industry. As an expert, Dr. Satnam was featured in various publications which includes journal / conference papers in International Conference on Stimulating Manufacturing Excellence in SMEs (SMESME, Coventry UK), Virtual International Conference on Intelligent Production Machines and Systems (I*PROMS, Cardiff UK), International Conference on CAD/CAM, Robotics and Factories of The Future (CARS & FOF, Vellore India), International Journal of Production Research (IJPR) and Construction Industry Development Board of Malaysia (CIDB).
